Diamond rings swiped from Zales Jewelers at FSK Mall

Police are investigating robberies Wednesday at two tiffany jewellery Zales Jewelers.

Two diamond rings valued at about $18,900 were taken from Zales Jewelers in the Francis Scott Key Mall on Buckeystown Pike at about 12:16 p.m., according to a news release from the Maryland State Police Frederick barrack.

Meanwhile, several pieces of jewelry were stolen from Zales Jewelers in the Columbia Mall on Little Patuxent Parkway in Howard County around 11 a.m., according to Howard County’s communications center.

The Howard County Police Department is investigating the robbery in Columbia. silver rings The department declined comment Wednesday evening.

Maryland State Police said the suspect in Frederick was wearing a black and white referee-style striped shirt when he entered Zales at FSK mall and asked to look at two diamond rings.

The store’s associate placed the two rings on her thumb and displayed them to him, the agency said. The suspect reached across the counter and pulled both rings from her thumb and left the store.

A witness described the suspect as a black man in his early to mid 20s, according to the press release. He weighs about 150 pounds and wore white and blue tennis shoes, the agency said.

Police searched the area around the mall but found no sign of the suspect, Maryland State silver bracelets Police Sgt. David Harper said.

The description of the man who stole items from the Zales store in Columbia matched the suspect described in the robbery at Zales in FSK, police said.
